According to statistics, 37% of the US population has Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), but 87% of these cases remain undiagnosed.
As a dentist, you may encounter hidden OSA patients or high OSA risk patients, including those with a history of TMD or bruxism. However, TMD also can be a potential side effect of using oral appliances.

While physicians decide if patients can be treated with oral appliances, dentists play a crucial role in assessing patients’ suitability for oral appliance treatment.
The goal of this lecture is to learn TMJ evaluation for OSA patients.

In this course, Azusa Kuwashima D.D.S.Ph.D. will share the essential steps to evaluate TMJ before starting oral sleep appliances to your patient.
