Autologous tooth transplantation (Autotransplantation of teeth) has been around for decades, but its popularity has fluctuated due to the unpredictability of its results.
However, recent advances in technology and improved understanding of biology have improved the predictability of autotransplantation of teeth.
Still, many clinicians lack confidence in the technique. This is due in part to a lack of research on long-term case results.

As a general practitioner, I have performed over 1,000 autologous tooth transplants since 1984.
Most of these cases have been documented in detail with photographs and x-rays in a standardized fashion and many have been followed up over time.
In this presentation, I hope to discuss the benefits of autologous tooth transplantation, sharing my own lifetime experience.
