With proper diagnosis and treatment, the pulp and tooth can be preserved and long-term esthetics and function restored in most cases of traumatized teeth. Autologous tooth transplantation (Autotransplantation of teeth) has been around for decades, but its popularity has fluctuated due to the unpredictability of its results. I will discuss how to plan the treatment for anterior tooth loss.&nbsp; There are various causes for anterior tooth loss,&nbsp;including caries, root fractures, periodontal disease, congenital absence, and trauma. If the cause of the loss is not addressed properly,&nbsp;and the treatment is not planned well, the risk to adjacent and opposing teeth increases,&nbsp;potentially leading to further complications. When tooth loss occurs, changes in the oral cavity can be observed.&nbsp; For instance, when an er tooth is lost, adjacent teeth may tilt, and opposing teeth may extrude.&nbsp; This results in a smaller occlusal area, increasing the load during chewing and potentially leading to overloading. Additionally, these changes can contribute to the progression of periodontal disease.&nbsp; The resulting reduction in occlusal vertical dimension&nbsp;can lead to anterior teeth interference and accelerated periodontal issues. the treatment process for fixing missing front teeth. It shows the steps from diagnosis to treatment. First, we collect information from the patient's medical history and interview. Next, we do detailed examinations. Then, we use this data to make a diagnosis and treatment plan. This way, we make sure we have the right treatment plan before starting. Following this process helps us give the best treatment to the patient. Let's talk about the concept and strategy of prosthetic treatment for tooth loss.&nbsp;

I will discuss how to plan the treatment for anterior tooth loss.

I think everybody has a concern in daily practice. So first of all, when it comes to thinking about intraoral aesthetic treatment planning, there is a fundamental objective to be taken into consideration. It sounds like a lot, but quite basic stuff, and then besides those elements, intraorally, we have to think about how to evaluate the smile and the face frame outside of the intraoral element. So in terms of the patient's replant smile we care about how much gingiva displays the patient exports. According to a classic smile classification by Dr. Miller there are three types of replant smiles. First thing is a low replant smile, the patient doesn't expose any gingiva display at the smile. Adelaide's Repline SMI, the patient exposed soft tissue, interdental space only. Highly plant SMI, the patient displays all margins of soft tissue. So that classification was quite famous a long time ago, but classification is only a classification. Sometimes it's not practical to elaborate on the actual treatment plan, especially the high plan because it varies a lot. So some patients show more and some patients show less. Recent research revealed that oral status is related to life expectancy, and “frailty” is one of the problems we face in a super aged society. With ageing, people slowly become weak due to a gradual decline in mental and physical function. As a result, their independence level in daily life gradually decreases and eventually, they will decline into the status of requiring long-term care. The concept of “oral frailty” is similar to that of “frailty”. The measurement of oral frailty can give people a warning not to fall into the negative downward spiral as follows: neglecting slight declines in oral health and leaving those conditions untreated with appropriate measures eventually leads to deterioration of oral function, impairment of eating function, and even deterioration in mental and physical health.&nbsp; This decrease in oral function, or “oral hypofunction”, should be managed by dental professionals for early detection of overall frailty.&nbsp; In this lecture, I will explain about the concept of frailty, oral frailty, oral hypofunction, and methods to assess oral function. Abstract:
In recent years, the aging rate of Japan’s population exceeded 28%; our country has become a super aged society.

 

Recent research has revealed that oral status is related to life expectancy, and “frailty” is one of the problems we face in a super aged society. With ageing, people slowly become weak due to a gradual decline in mental and physicalfunction. As a result, their independence level in daily life gradually decreases and, eventually, they will decline into a status of requiring long-term care.

 

There is a concept of “oral frailty” being related to “systemic frailty”.

The measurement of oral frailty can give people an early warning not to fall into the negative downward spiral as follows: neglecting slight declines in oral health and leaving those conditions untreated eventually leads to deterioration of oral function, which impairs eating function, and evetually deterioration in mental and physical health.

This decrease in oral function, so called “oral hypofunction”, should be managed by dental professionals for early detection of overall frailty. 

 

In this lecture, I will explain about the concept of frailty, oral frailty, oral hypofunction, and methods to assess oral function.
